Discover Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe, on a guided excursion. Go on a short trek around the crater and explore a lava tunnel. Discover the mystical landscapes of the volcano. Taste the typical products of the area around Etna Mount Etna, with its 3320 meters, is the highest active volcano in Europe. This excursion will allow you to explore both the volcano and the surrounding area. After being picked up from your accommodation, you will travel to the Red Mountains, the place hit by the massive volcanic eruption of 1669, where you can admire the stone quarry formed by the lava that eroded the rock. Then continue to the Silvestri Craters at 2000 meters above sea level, where you will participate in a short medium level trek. Finally, stop at the site of the 1992 Etna eruption, where you can taste some local seasonal products before visiting the village of Zafferana for lunch (not included in the tour fee) .Discover the volcanic history of Etna with a tour that starts in Catania and takes you into an almost extraterrestrial landscape in company of a local guide who will share information and curiosities with you. This excursion on Etna begins in the sea of solidified lava dating back to the 1991 eruption.
To make the most of the tour, wear appropriate footwear and a windproof jacket, and bring a backpack and a water bottle (you will surely be thirsty).
